Be a part of the plan…September 24th

The Town of Enfield will present its draft Plan of Conservation and Development on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:00 PM. The presentation will take place at Town Hall, in the Town Council meeting room. The public is invited to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to evaluate the Plan and provide comments.

The Plan of Conservation and Development has been commissioned by the Town of Enfield to guide zoning and future development. The Plan of Conservation and Development considers all facets of community life: population, housing, economy, environment, parks and open space, historic preservation, and public services. The Plan will establish policies, programs and projects that are aimed at helping the Town to achieve its vision of the preferred future.

A 20-minute presentation by project consultant, peter j. smith & company, inc., of Buffalo, NY will describe the Plan’s key proposed elements and recommendations. The presentation will also provide an overview of the planning process started in November 2009, and how public comment was incorporated. Following the presentation, there will be a group consensus building activity, as well as opportunities for individual input.

The presentation is free and open to the public, and everyone is urged to attend and participate. For more information, call Town Planner, José Giner, at 860-253-6356. .  The plan is available for viewing on the Town’s Web site here .

A copy of the Plan is also available for public viewing in the Planning Office at Town Hall and at the Enfield Central Library on Middle Road
